lyrics
I missed a red sun today,
It shone for my homeland, where I was was grey,
I missed a red sun in your sky,
It shone for my loved ones, as if it were there calling me to the fireside,
I prayed for the cold, cause the warm wet my skin,
I prayed that the people here would let me in,
And I gaze at the songbirds, hoping they’ll help me fly,
And I listen to their words, and I follow,
I follow,
Cross legged lady on the rooftop,
Don’t chase the planets cause they’ll never stop,
Don’t chase the bright lights though they’re quicker than sound
Just sit there and listen...
Sit there and listen…
This place does inspire me,
With it’s women so strong,
With it’s bricks built on stories,
And it’s streets lined with songs,
And I did miss a red sun,
And I do miss my home,
But I’m here for the songbirds,
And I’ll follow,
Cross legged lady on the rooftop,
Don’t chase the planets as they’ll never stop,
Don’t chase the bright lights though they’re quicker than sound,
Just sit there and listen

Edinburgh born Anna McLuckie is a singer and Clàrsach player based between London and
Manchester.
Anna's debut album TODAY, EVERYDAY was released independently in 2021. Lyrically, these songs carry a childlike storybook quality, which when met with the complex interweaving layers of harmony, leaves us with an album of contemporary folklore....more
Tour Guide builds and builds - extraordinary rhythm, ethereal vocals (deserved, despite its too-frequent use), all four musicians in harmony, lyricism capturing the reality and longing of daily life - I love these guys. The whole album is beautiful. jjbeardey
There's mystery and beauty here. Very hard to pick a favourite between the two EPs so far - this has a special place as the first time I encountered everything they're bringing to the world. Rhythm, melody, musicianship, authenticity - you name it, they have it - if it's something worth doing with music. jjbeardey
On this harmonically rich LP, the Scottish singer-songwriter contrasts gorgeous soprano harmonies with strident folk-rock instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 26, 2023
Delicate and personal folk-pop from Castle Theater: honest observations and reflections presented as thoughtful, well-written miniatures. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 4, 2022
